Chuckles points out the end of XP support is nigh:
… but haiku says:
So f****** what … MS hasn’t really pushed out security updates for XP for some time …
The only problem is that some versions of Internet Explorer don’t run with XP … leaving FireFox to say “whoopee”
And as for viruses, malware etc. : Mac Norton sez thanks !
Unless you have a real reason to go 64-bit (you would have upgraded by now) there’s no real reason to upgrade , especially to Win8
I say this is precisely what I was referring to – that support ends for what are still used by many people, as can be seen by analyses in site stats. To just end support, with their megacompany resources, until usage drops below, say, 5%, is not on. That and the techie disease that if it’s not new, if it’s last year’s, then it’s no good.
Some of us don’t have the resources to upgrade every year. Sure we can upgrade programmes and various apps but many of these require new equipment.
