High society
Confession – your humble blogger does make an attempt to read society pages and Kate has featured on many of the posts but in attempting this one, it had to be given up early.
Seems commenters felt the same:
I was wondering who had written this illiterate rubbish then I read the bylines and all was made clear. Please DM, at least employ writers [?] with a modicum of talent and more than the merest grasp of literacy.
Scroll to the top:
By Catherine Ostler and Rebecca English
Ah. Maybe Rebecca should learn some before embarking on a career in journalism.
I can’t remember what I was going to say about the article, I came to that photo of Beatrice and it knocked any thoughts right out of my head. Do you think she does this with her eyes on purpose?
[Guffaws] And as for the connections:
Cressida Bonas, 23, Lady Mary Gaye’s youngest child by her third ex-husband.
The Anstruther Gough Calthorpes are premier league – virtually Manchester United The Middletons are more like Doncaster Rovers There are other eligible families around with beautiful daughters like the Delevingnes (Arsenal) but William has chosen to really slum it. Is is all very odd.
Odd indeed.
I turned him down too…DM didn’t report that though
– Barbie, Perth, Australia
Well, you would, Barbie.
Kate wasn’t his only girlfriend, just the one who courted publicity. Another reason she doesn’t have any female friends she alienates everybody. – Helena, London
Oooo, claws out. It gets better:
I was enjoying the read until a marsupial jumped out alongside Eugenie.
And:
More trifle anyone ?
Now seriously, comments have really made the online papers better reads.
Anstruther Gough Calthorpe – these are roads in Birmingham named after famous brummies well done gal never forget where you come from, you can always tell a Brummie but you won’t tell a Brummie much.
And:
People with money, big eyes and teeth.
And guess who sent me the link? He writes:
Just two or three hundred of their closest friends.
………..
H/T Chuckles
Meanwhile, downunder, Ted Baillieu has resigned. You have to know a bit about society down there. Baillieu is a Geelong patron and they are the Western District money [the players used to be farmers' sons before the club went all professional] and the Old Money who support Melbourne, Carlton and Hawthorn obviously forced him out.
Incidentally, Geelong take on Hawthorn on Easter weekend. Should be a top match.

There’s no denying however that Lady Mary Gaye Curzon certainly pushes out some exquisitely nubile talent.
Shame there isn’t more of it on this Island.
That’s what we’re missing: celeb journalism about bankers, traders and hedgies. At least with showbiz and Royals you get pseudo-intimate details, goss about rumoured relationships, candid snaps of them pissed, features on their clothes and houses and holidays, schadenfreude crap about signs of cellulite…
Yes, let’s see how the extractive millionaires and billionaires earn some of their ill-gotten by adding to the gaiety of nations. Anybody fancy doing Hello/Heat/Chat etc for the stealerati?
What is with the look on her face? She looks like someone just (without warning) gave her a fast-acting caffeine suppository.
