What the hell is wrong with these people’s minds?
The talk today at work was not specifically on this topic but it was thereabouts. I’ve never seen so many people respond to a catalyst – someone mentioning it.
As it turned out, it was another absolutely inanity in the elfansafetee litany and people just exploded and muttered and this was from old to young. Wonder what they’d make of this:
Jessica Ennis’s coach says the Olympic champion’s hopes of defending her title have been dealt a blow by a decision to close Don Valley Stadium in Sheffield.
Tony Minichiello said athletics was “close to dead” in the city after the council confirmed the closure.
Don Valley Stadium closure: Ennis coach warns of ‘hefty blow’
The demolition of the stadium where the heptathlon gold medallist often trains is part of measures to cut £50m from the council’s budget.
Forget Ennis for a moment – this is not about her. It’s about fat cats on 6 figure salaries deciding the only way to economize is to take away the very things they should keep running.
If all this austerity were genuine, then OK – but the whole thing is bloody artificial. There is no crisis except what the EU, CP and other criminals wish it to be and the agenda is to squeeze people so hard they cry.
You don’t close your major stadia, then throw your hands up and ask what else could we do, you don’t decimate your armed forces, you don’t elect a spineless bstd like Cameron who is in thrall to his European and UN masters like no other, Osborne and Balls included.
You look at your priorities – modest immigration, manufacturing base, integrity of products, integrity of people, first you create jobs, then you start squeezing on benefits. You keep your armed forces robust, R&D money flowing – do I really need to spell out what every person reading this already knows?
Why don’t the government get it? I believe they know full well but just like Agenda 21, the whole idea is to decimate in order to rebuild to the socialist model and to hell with the ordinary person plus the nation.
This is wrong and we have to change it. These people need to be run out of town and/or incarcerated. It will only take one or two in jail. Citizens’ arrests, private jails.

It’s part political in that they’re picking high profile targets to throw criticism at the govt.
The thing they’re keeping quiet about is that the Don Valley has saddled the Sheffield taxpayer with a debt burden from the world youth games which the then local authority ran up a huge debt to put on showpiece facilities. the result was they built a huge stadium that far exceeds the needs of any athletics meet in this country. they’ve got a white elephant now that they quite happy to pass the debt on to the taxpayer, so in effect they’re trying to blame the govt for something of their own making.
Thanks for the good oil on that. So, a double whammy.

You mean “and incinerated”.
Whither politicians. A blast furnace manufacturer shows us how it’s possible.
XX A blast furnace manufacturer shows us how it’s possible.XX
Which in Sheffield, is HIGHLY appropriate.
If this was FB, I would click “Like”, but it’s not, so I can’t.
Contractor kickbacks, just like the Olympics.
Behind the veil has hit the nail on the head re the costs, this was another ridiculous over extented project for a World student games that would never bring in the revenue to make it viable.
Athletics sadly does not pull in the crowds except for very large meets so this was indeed a white elephant, the whole project is costing the local taxpayer £20 million a year till 2024, legacy is a word used to placate the public when spending huge sums on vanity projects with other peoples money, and by the way Sheffield council has form full stop.
Despite this and more, the People still vote for the Big 3 parties. The People are equally to blame.
The spiv with a barrow down at the market has moved up-market. If one can call a Council Office ‘up-market’.
Never mind the quality, feel the width.
