   I will say nothing derogatory about Mantel’s looks. They are gene-driven and entirely normal. Not everyone can conform to our society’s ideas of beauty, regardless of the amount of aborted babies and little-boy’s foreskins they plaster on their faces.

   But a pretty woman is generally nicer to look at and I have to – quite willingly – agree with CherryPie that jealousy pours from even the most painted mouths.

   So she it was who was drawing attention to Kate’s looks and as a person. The British have reacted predictably. Hence the harsh comments above, even from Cherie.

   That’s what this is all about – I’d not put up such a comparison ordinarily.

   I’m currently watching “Sleeping Beauty” almost daily. My daughter likes me to pretend to be the prince slaying the dragon and then rushing up-stairs to awake her with a kiss.
