Did you know it was Lent?

I hadn’t noticed either until last evening when a lady gave me some spicy pancakes and that’s when it hit – it was Shrove Tuesday. May I point out that this lady is a Muslim, so what does that say?
Today is Ash Wednesday, first day of Lent. Will you be giving anything up for Lent?
………..

Yes – beefburgers.

We pancaked last night : there is a simple joy in tossing them over, besides the fun of eating them. We decided, as usual, that lemon and sugar is better than maple syrup.
Yes I did know
I did freshly-squeezed orange juice and cinnamon-sugar on my pancakes, I don’t know how many we made but it was a lot. There was no wastage, either!
Oh, my Muslim son-in-law and my daughter requested that we provided the occasion.
The evening was great fun.
I also gave up shouting at the TV whenever a politician of any stripe appeared, just for Lent, you understand.
