It’s in the blood [1]
Working in Paris many years ago, one of my colleagues was a Breton. Great bloke and we had bizarre and often hilarious conversations in franglais.
And of course we had a few drinks in the Irish pub now and then. They had a map on the wall with Scotland, Ireland, Wales, Brittany and Galicia shaded in green.
One evening he pointed to the map on the wall and said “pourquoi?”
So I said “La Bretagne est une terre celtique, nous sommes frères celtes, nous avons le même sang!” (well, all right a semi-inebriated franglais version of it)
Should we have another Guinness?
Mais oui!!!!
He must have lived in Paris too long and was obviously unaware of his heritage.
And as a Celtic country they produce great music, of course

Shame on you, there is no Alan Stivell
I do have some single malt whisky made in Brittany, which claims to be Celtic whisky (It’s actually not at all bad).
I am told also that Welsh speakers can easily learn Breton as they are basically the same language with a different accent, but as I can’t even pronounce welsh I don’t know if it’s true.
You frequented an Irish pub in France… :-O
Woodsy: he is in the second clip singing alonside Nolwenn Leroy and is also sitting in the studio looking rather bemused in the first and third videos
OOps, shame on me then, I didn’t recognise him!
