Why the UMP meeting which just started is important for us

This is being live-blogged over at OoL.
The reason it’s important is that if Fillon is made leader over the elected leader, than a left-liberal coup would have taken place and everything will be the same as before – Hollande in charge, lurching further into the EU. If Cope retains his elected leader status which both candidates signed off on last Monday, then that is a small c conservative among the pigeons, a la Nigel.
