Many of the West Indians were unplayable at times:
… but my all time favourite – and it seems that of many cricketers too – was Malcolm Marshall:
Professional, nice guy, put back into others what he’d learned, fearsome for the top players, self-deprecating – no one had a bad word, talked to the kids, worked his guts out on the body and technique, never satisfied with what he’d done. That’s what a champion is.

‘Whispering Death’ they called him on account of his lethal deliveries and smooth, silent run up.
Um, no Michael Holding was Whispering Death, not Marshall. Marshall didn’t have a popular nickname as far as I know.
Interesting that it was Holding who gave much of the eulogy.
