Up, down, underground

You’ve seen the skyscraper hotels, hotels built on cliffs and those with vertical gardens. How about an underground hotel?
A British engineering firm Atkins proposed an extravagant design for a five-star hotel located deep within a 100-meter, abandoned and half flooded pit near the base of Tianmashan Mountain in the Songjiang District of Shanghai.

What if someone leaves a tap running overnight? Will it fill up?
That river or canalised river is a tad close to the edge is it not?
