Oooo, will you just look at that Mandelbulby thingy. Prize is a free copy of the book Me and Feminazism by James Higham, [about to be published in 2014], speeding on its way to you now, Cherie. Consolation prize of a year’s supply of said vegie is on its way to you, Mark.
Some sort of virus.
Den,
Much worse than that.
It is a cross between a cauliflower and a broccoli. has more flavour than a cauliflower
Delicious with a bit of butter and salt.
Plant material and not a leaf. Catkin?
Fractal food or nutrition for nerds.
Its flavour doesn’t live up to its appearance.
Romanesco broccoli.
Hoping Chuckles will confirm that later.
Cherie is correct, and Mark is also correct, it is more decorative than palatable.
Yup it’s the delightfully fractal Romanesco Broccoli.
Opinions are divided as to it’s delectability and palatability, as we see in the comments.

I have never tried the veg I just like the fractals and the Fibonacci aspect of it, it looks great in photographs.
On balance I think I would much prefer the consolation prize, there are so many photographic possibilities
I wonder if Mark would swap prizes with me…
And just so we are all sure on the ‘F’ matter…
