1. Pretty girl, don’t you think? Not sure Mark’s caricature is right – suppose she’s just too green for the job, the lass.
As for the officials, they were caught with their pants down:
The immaturity and lack of professionalism by the civil servants involved is shocking. Did they draw moustaches and devil horns on Branson’s photo or just pin one to the dart board? I don’t doubt that Whitehall is full of idiots like these because anyone with any intelligence, foresight or imagination is out in the big wide world making their own way!
2. Curved buildings are out in schools? They can only resemble Borstall or something Dickensian – that’s the proper way to learn according to the government – get some oppression into those kids, sergeant-major. Isn’t it interesting how the government can identify a problem [vaguely] but while the solution is obvious to Blind Freddy and his cat, the government goes off on this strange tangent which they interpret as responsible and giving the people what they want.
3. See Matt’s cartoon? He wants to be careful – those things are too close to the bone – he could well be sued by the humourless lowlifes at the Beeb. Oops, I take that back – by the fine, upstanding and hardworking staff at the Beeb.
4. A late one from JD:
Somebody mentioned ‘Game Theory’ in the comments. Anyway, you know that ‘Game Theory’ is complete bollox, similar to the drivel that is Artspeak so beloved of the Tate and The Arts Council.
Here is the definitive lecture on the subject-
“Mathematical Game Theory as Applied to Physician Education.”
by Dr. Myron L. Fox, “an authority on the application of mathematics to human behavior,”

enjoy.
5. Fry being a moron as usual. This is one of the better responses to his homophobic zoology lesson:
Well may Stephen Fry launch his attack on critics of gay marriage. But is he right? Consider Australia, where the general population was being bombarded with the line, “There’s an overwhelming consensus in favour of gay marriage”. Well, those promoting gay marriage might have believed it, but when it recently came to a decision in the Australian Parliament, the politicians did not believe it. They overwhelmingly rejected a Bill that would have legalised gay marriage. Sometimes, gay people must understand they cannot expect society to overturn a strongly held tradition, marriage is between man and woman as enshrined in the Marriage Act.
Absolutely. Another unsustainable narrative by the left.
6. Hope yet for the Tories:
Drop your gay marriage laws, Cameron told
