In these debt-ridden times, wouldn’t it be nice to enjoy the same rights as U.S. businesses and be able to file for Chapter 11 any time we hit the skids. All we have is infringement of our human rights to enable us to continue with our criminal activity.

More than just a pretty face? Like Argentina, like all “democracies” today? Argentina was fatally wounded almost ten years ago and Argentina as I knew it died yesterday, October 23, 2011, when Ms. Kirchner was re-elected with over 50% of the votes, gaining complete control of the country. She now controls the executive of course, [...]

At first I thought this was a spoof but it appears they’re deadly serious: A new Icelandic airline which will offer flights to “fine destinations at a reasonable price” as of spring 2012 will be called WOW Air and will be open for bookings “in the coming days,” as its website, which is under construction, [...]

Great post by James Delingpole: This is not a joke, it’s not funny and it’s not new. Anyone who reads this blog has been aware of this inescapable truth for some time. They’ll have read (back in March 2010) about the research by Dr Gabriel Calzada Alvarez of the Rey Juan Carlos University in Spain [...]

All Souls’ Day: November 2nd All Souls’ Day is so called because Catholics on that day seek, by prayer and almsgiving, to alleviate the sufferings of souls in purgatory. It was instituted in the monastery of Cluny in 993.

The global economy is on the verge of a new and deeper jobs recession that may ignite social unrest, the International Labour Organization (ILO) hopes has warned. It will never get back here whilst: # all those incompetent parachutees are in place; # the tax system is still so iniquitous; # councils are allowed their [...]

An international group of online hackers [H/T Chuckles] is warning a Mexican drug cartel to release one of its members, kidnapped from a street protest, or it will publish the identities and addresses of the syndicate’s associates, from corrupt police to taxi drivers, as well as reveal the syndicates’ businesses. The vow is a bizarre [...]

The Forbidden Book (Ooms), Academy of Fine Arts, Brussels Immanuel Kant (1724-1804) encapsulated this brave new metanarrative thus: “Enlightenment is man’s emergence from his self-imposed tutelage. Tutelage is the inability to use one’s own understanding without another’s guidance. This tutelage is self-imposed if its cause lies not in lack of understanding but in indecision and [...]
