Cartoon courtesy of Chuckles Oh for a new golden age when women are once again proud of the epithet Wife and men are proud to be Husbands, when a woman cares enough for her husband that she takes his name and has no issue with that, where marriages are home economies, where the husband is [...]

Apologies for being very late to the party on this person – never thought much about her before. Now, let me see if I have this right: She’s a Yorkshire born Pakistani whom the Tories put up for election in 2005, there was a swing away from the Tories in that constituency, they then made [...]

Just discovered the ones below here. Another example of the first class music that is hidden away but seems to be thriving without any music industry ‘help’. You haven’t featured Cajun/Zydeco yet so now’s the time:

As usual, it is in the comments that the wisdom often lies. Newspaper articles and blogposts are catalysts but the review by readers is what brings the issue home, e.g. with the Meredith Kercher issue [see sidebar]. I always look for sane comments below articles.

Chuckles wanted to have a plug at this women on benches thingy – sometimes I think the ledis aren’t always aware the effect they have: … and Russ also wanted to get into them but what had me chuckling was that he entitled his email “Ledi on the bench”. Russian to English has many endearing [...]

Courtesy of Rossa, pyramids “discovered” in Bosnia: Immediate question is how they could be “discovered” when there is a town nearby and one suspects someone in the past few centuries might have wondered, just a tad, about that funny, pyramid shaped hill.

British Rail is quite reliable – it can almost always be relied upon to break down at critical periods, for example, when there is: 1. Peak hour; 2. Sunshine; 3. Frost; 4. Rain; 5. Leaves or 6. Snow … or any combination of those, anywhere near the line.

One child holds the national flag, another holds the flag inimical to that nation – these are the seeds of confusion which have been sown. Steve Hayes is a very nice chap and a Christian to boot. He takes me to task here about Communitarianism:

An investigation is under way after 200 dead cows were found in a field in the Town of Stockton. Investigators with the Portage County Sheriff’s Office said the owner of the cattle has been working with a local veterinarian and it’s believed the animals died from the IBR/BVD virus. The virus can cause respiratory and [...]

This 7 ring design is as old as civilization itself. It has been found on many artefacts from archeological sites in all parts of the world. To lay out this design in your garden, follow these instructions.

[Courtesy Rossa] # Since 1860, the magnetic pole shift has more than doubled every 50 years. # During the past 150 years, the pole shift has been in the same direction. # During the past 10 years, the magnetic north pole has shifted nearly half of the total distance of the past 50 years! Let’s [...]

I put this to Rossa, on the flaws in the zodiacal division of signs and she gave a good answer, quoting from Twilight [no url, sorry and can't find it in google]: What if, in both versions of the zodiac, the division into 12 signs, passed to us by ancient astrologers is just too detailed [...]

All we can do in sorting out the red herrings, coverups, admitted discrepancies and the prejudices of the pundits is to read more and more accounts of the same event. The primary source of most pundits concerned with the death of Albino Luciani has been David Yallop and to be fair, the Left has done [...]

This is essentially a reworking of last evening’s housekeeping post. Moderation is on until this evening, as usual on a Saturday, unfortunately. It might be that one month from now, this blog will be moving again because the hosting is apparently coming to an end. Current thinking is that I’ll either move back to the [...]

Pink Dave and his vacuous mate Blaming the true conservatives for his own unprincipled election defeat – LOL! There’s absolutely nothing new in the so-called “shot across the bows” of “disaffected Tories”. It happened in 1997, it happened in 2000. Many have gone UKIP but not all UKIP are ex-Tory, of course.

Can’t wait to see what Ian Parker-Joseph, Witterings from Witney and Richard North have to say about this EU own goal. After all, these lads are the flagship for exposing EU folly, aren’t they? Meanwhile, a comment from Birmingham:

I prefer free weights to machines and one of the reasons is that you can’t hide behind a safety device. Unfortunately, we have only a Smith machine, with controlled bar and yet it’s possible to simulate free weights to an extent.

James is worried about the “end times” when nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. All these are the beginning of sorrows … I am not the worrying type and I am looking forward to the end, I have been blinded [...]

All right, it doesn’t personally affect you if you are not a student. It’s only going to cost you in the pocket in the sense that anything which the EU commissions is a drain on your pocket. It’s not going to, in itself, stop the EU onslaught. Libertarians can safely ignore it because it is [...]

The UK non-dom problem is a result of government greed. For a start: The super-rich who enjoy non-dom status are happy to pay the levy and stay. But the foreigners for whom the £30,000 is a problem are not the super-rich, they are often the skilled professionals working here, often with a family, who make [...]
