Men’s Night was on Saturday and tonight, it’s the turn of the ladies. The first song is dedicated to all those who find themselves without that special somebody:
The second is also about someone else with issues, often hidden away and likely to remain there for long periods of time:
The third is one of the strangest songs yet. Apparently about the old UB40 days, just why an American group would involve themselves with that is a puzzle and the attempt by Susanna to look as bitchy as the others doesn’t quite come off. What Leonard Nimoy is doing driving those four around anyway is a further puzzle I shan’t lose a lot of sleep over:
And another thing, Susanna Hoffs was naked during the recording of Eternal Flame, which is why you see the others but she’s only from the chest up, except for the inset shot on the beach. I don’t think I wish to know this and am sorry I read it now. I’m even sorrier I wrote it.
JD has two additions to tonight’s fare:
… and he comments:
I think I’m in love with Joan Osborne- que viejo verde estoy.
