Culinary Conundrum 2

Rossa‘s second might have you stumped:

Answer to the last conundrum was a citrus zester. Madpiper is right, the channel along the side is to create a fluted edge to the slices of fruit.

So here’s the next one.

What is this?

And what would you use it for?

  1. I believe that’s a garlic peeler. You put the cloves inside and roll it around and it takes the ‘paper’ off the out side.

I had one from Lakeland but could never get it to work

  2. Agreed, garlic peeler.

  3. It is a garlic peeler.

I simply press the cloves with the palm of my hand pressing down smartly on the flat of my large Japanese kitchen knife, then I use my heavyweight garlic press.

There is nothing to beat the smell of garlic and onions liquefying in hot extra virgin olive oil.

  4. Well, b***** me, the things I’m learning!

  5. Is it a pan handle cover so hands don’t get burnt from the metal?

  6. Strewth! And women why men laugh at them?
