Spooky
Liz has this post about her car doing strange things when she gets in it and that casts my recent experiences in sharp relief. Now it might just be flights of fancy but you be the judge:
1. In the last few weeks, people I’ve visited or have been with have developed colds;
2. On Monday, the train broke down, just after I got on;
3. After the incident at the barrier, I went into Costa and as the man served me cappuccino, he scalded his hand badly and had to put it under a running tap;
4. As I sat down, the fire alarm went on, which set off all the other fire alarms;
5. Yesterday morning, I thought I’d try the station hot chocolate. It gave me rinsing water. When the lady came over, it didn’t work. Eventually, it gave me the hot chocolate;
6. This morning, I tried the machine again. It stopped halfway and then spluttered, sending spray over the ticket office floor. She just gave me the milk container, saying, “It’s you, you know,” and I poured cold milk on top of the chocolate;
7. In the perspex waiting room, with a mouthful of coffee, something choked in the throat and I spluttered milky chocolate all over the waiting room floor. Ripping the middle pages from the train rag, I wiped it up and then binned them. A young chap came in and tried to read the paper. This afternoon, on the return journey, the waiting room had a nice aroma;
8. At the shop, the lady at the till looked up at me and spilled all the size cubes over the floor;
9. I visited my mate and only caught him before he went out because his car battery had run down. This evening he was to visit but his battery charger wasn’t working;
10. Lights keep going out when I walk under them or near them and then they come back on again. My phone’s not working, according to some but it seems fine to me.
Sweet dreams!

Some of those are co-incidences and some are not. Your challenge is to work out which are which (and why)…
So I can blame all my life’s maladies for reading your blog?
Folks, the underlying issue is being taken further, by way of comment, in a longer post today or tomorrow.
No, you’re not paranoid, and yes, they are out to get you. Just a matter of time.
John Masefield wrote a book called Odtaa.
I read it twice.
The second time was to remind myself of why I didn’t like it the first itme.
One Damn Thing After Another.
