The departing incumbent – Michaëlle Jean. Michael Ignatieff has asked Stephen Harper to extend her term. Below – yes you do see it correctly – is the front runner in the Facebook poll on whom to replace her with.
… and this young man has also been suggested for the top job.

So long as it isn’t Bryan Adams Alanis Morrisette or Avril Lavigne, it will be fine- but imagine a country which nominated one of them to be Head of State, awful music forever!
I’d quite like to see her continue, myself but it doesn’t seem to be happening and she’s already resigned herself to it.
