nourishing obscurity

Sonia McMahon has died, aged 78.  Loving wife of the treacherous gnome, Billie McMahon whom Gough Whitlam called “Tiberius with a telephone”, she was as elegant and radiant as he was appalling.  She came from that era when loyalty to one’s marriage and husband still counted for something.

Her most famous moment came in 1971, at the White House, when she wore THAT dress, split up the sides.

Vale … but leaving that aside, why do so many men in public life choose [relatively] huge women as their partners?  Just asking like.
