Spending time wisely

Time to turn our attention to more important matters in life. Here is a little pdf I made of how I rate the 22 Bond films. Some surprises.
If you take the two best films of each Bond except for Lazenby’s one film, then they average out: Moore [39], Connery [37], Lazenby [37], Brosnan [36.5], Craig [36] and Dalton [31.5]. That’s not how I’d rate the Bonds themselves. In terms of consistently good performances, I’d put it: Brosnan, Craig, Connery, Dalton, Moore and Lazenby.
Best Bond girls: Tatyana, Solitaire, Vesper, Natalya, Kara. Worst – Camille, Anya, Pussy, Pam, Wai Lin.

Now hold on. There is no way Diamonds can come last. Octopussy, mookraker are appalling. Ok, DAF is badly paced but music and villains more than make up for it. its not good but its better than those two.
Same with a view to a kill.A feeble 22, yet it must be better than the forgetable For your eyes only?
I believe that on most film review sites have very similar ratings to your own. Goldfinger, Russia with love and casino come top.
Poor old man with the golden gun. Always down the bottom. yet its great.
Which goes to show it’s in the eye of the beholder. Any list like mine is going to be highly coloured, for example why DAF and LTK are so low – the reason, in my book, is the bland, boring American setting. I like Americans themselves but some parts of the land are pretty boring.
As for the SWLM, I just don’t like Barbara Bach’s attitude. She bad-mouthed Bond after it and she’d done well out of the exposure and her ungraciousness comes out in any ways. Ditto with Camille. It’s much to do with the script but it’s also that person – I’ve seen interviews with Kurylenko and she’s completely into herself.
I doubt that many people judge the Bond films this way. Romanova, in FRWL, had a quiet sauciness which made up for her slightly wet performance otherwise … and so on. I’d like to know your likes and dislikes this way too – sometimes they give a new angle on the thing.
