Short note about this theme
The base theme [before it was dabbled with] was Quadruple Blue. It doesn’t appear on the Wordpress.org list but it is available on the net.
Frankly, it was the symmetrical, untweakable “three-columnedness” of F2 which I was sick of plus the fuzziness of some of the lettering. F2 allowed much functionality but at a cost. Cassandra said, “I knew it! I knew it was a mistake [to go into Wordpress],” and she may have been right but for now, it does the job I want.
The good or bad thing about this theme is that it has virtually no adjustable functionality – it’s just a nice, crisp theme – but it is ccs stylesheet friendly, unlike some of them and it uses the Wordpress functions as standard. Hey, I’ve no problem with that and I’ve always liked manual templates in which you can write your own code.
So you’ll see a manual “Home” and a manual RSS button but the comments feeds are Wordpress standard. Incidentally, should I switch off the display of who is taking the comments? I’m really not interested – the analytics, by the way, just don’t appear anywhere, on the grounds that they’re a waste of time.
Columns
I designed it so that the “800 people” would see left sidebar and text block, with a hint of another column on the right, and the “1024 people” people would get virtually the whole front page, left to right. It was also designed that all major functions – e.g. previous posts, commenters’ details, links, were within a screen and a half, top to bottom.
Anyway, we’ll run with this theme for a while and see how it works out.

On my browser the rightmost column falls over the edge but even with that this looks very nice.
It reminds me very much of blogger but without the top bar.
always innovative ole chap
Looks good.
I did have an issue that occassionally the left hand sidebar text encroached across the central posts, usually corrected with a click of the refresh button, and this now seems cleared up.
Thanks for all of those. Left bar encroaching – hmmm.
Looking good. Cheers, James!
On my main PC I can see the whole page, will check it out on my lap top and let you know how it looks there.
If you love manipulating html and css Wordpress is the best option. I have worked with both and Wordpress is far more advanced in its possibilities.
