If man evolved from monkeys and apes, why do we still have monkeys and apes?

You may as well ask why we still have viruses, bacteria or earthworms. It’s because each species occupies a particular niche; either other life forms depend on their existence or they depend on other life forms.
In most parts of the world, the number of humans and the number of apes has reached a level where neither is crowding out the other. We don’t want to live in trees in the jungle and monkeys don’t want to drill for oil in Siberia or the North Sea, for example.
We didn’t evolve from apes, but from a common archaic human-ape ancestor.
James,
I think you will find that the reason we still have monkeys and apes is that they have metamorphosed into politicians (with the obligatory rebranding of course)
They are more intelligent than humans aand trialling the evolution of the species
Experiments, don’t we just love them
Do you know, I never thought about that!
The misconception is widespread. None of us have a monkey for a common ancestor.
Even more confusing is the humanoid appearance of simians when they are dressed in police uniforms and allowed to drive vehicles on our roads.
AH we are not evolved from the monkeys and apes we see but from ancestors. We evolved as have monkeys and apes
Ross says: “We didn’t evolve from apes,”
MTG says: “The misconception is widespread. None of us have a monkey for a common ancestor.”
Jams O’D: “we are not evolved from the monkeys and apes ..”
A trokia of common sense, the ‘we are all evolved from monkeys and apes’ meme is really starting to tick me off.
If only Darwin was here to add these new theories into his book and bring it up to date.
