The 1955 Decca recording with Hilda Gueden if poss. It’s opera, but it’s a song. And bewitching.

Dietrich must be one of the greatest entertainers in history. She had an iconic face but the word iconic does not go far enough…..she was a woman. What happened to our world?

Pretty good choices; the Beatles song is the one we think of if your old enough to remember when they first became popular. Sinatra would have also been a good pick for crooner, but Crosby had a better voice, in my opinion. If a person was going to toss in a country western song, something like “I’m So Lonesome I Could Cry” by Hank Williams would do, or Johnny Cash’s “I Walk the Line”.
Just my opinion.
