I always think of it as a failure if you have enemies, it means diplomacy has failed.
I’m sure that many people who suddenly become your enemies have not even had the chance of diplomacy.
An enemy doesn’t suddenly arise, there is a process for it to get that far…

Enemies can be unseen and suddenly pop up – I know this from experience. The secret enemy, masquerading as a friend is one type I’ve encountered. Not all enemies telegraph their moves ahead of time. Some official enemies, e.g. socialists, I can have a beer and a meal with with no problems.
What I meant by not suddenly arising was they were there all along. Just because they couldn’t be seen before doesn’t mean they weren’t there all along.
But it is nice that you think I am youthful
