Not the nine o’clock gloom

darth-vader-gas-maskWho or what am I?  I wear a mask and stop people getting home.  You can ask me any question in comments, as long as it results in one of the answers: “yes”, “no” or “not applicable”.

  2. No.

  3. Is it to do with a sport?

  4. Yes.

  5. Catcher – as in baseball?

  6. cricket.

  7. No, ask some more questions, rather than guess. :)

  8. Chris, you have it and Uber was oh so close. The week’s yachting trip to Somalian waters is on its way to you now.

  9. I’ve got that fainting thing James!

I’d be lying if I said that I haven’t made a version of this speech before I was 8 years old and staring into the bathroom mirror. And this would have been a shampoo bottle. (As I hold up my winning entry.) Well, it’s not a shampoo bottle now!

I feel very fortunate to have made it all the way from there to here and I’d like to thank some of the people along the way who had faith in me. My friends and family.

There was no division between my thought process and typing on this thread and that is what made it so special. So, to have been surrounded by a remarkable group of people who provided an unbroken chain of support… I’m so lucky to have a wonderful wife and three beautiful children who let me do what I love and who love me just the way that I am. George, Edward and Elizabeth, this is for you, this is for all of you.

And I want to acknowledge my fellow nominee, this star of the blogosphere, I think we all can’t believe we’re in a category with ubermoth at all! I’m sorry ubermoth, but you have to just suck that up. And just to the blog James, thank you so much, my God!”

    With apologies to Kate Winslett.

  10. first baseman-in baseball.

  11. Maybe third baseman. The point is[ I obviously don't know baseball] but it’s a baseball question!
Chris- what do you mean? You have some cheek! Slappppp!

  12. Ubermouth:

errm.. James said I had won and not having ever won anything I didn’t know what to say so I copied and pasted Kate Winslett’s gushing oscar acceptance speech – with a few minor alterations. No offence intended. ;)

  13. Chris,

I was being light hearted[but not feeling so, it did not come across as such in print].:)
I’m sorry[didn't mean to kill your Oscar moment] :)

    Well done ,by the way.
