Remove any 9 matches to make no squares at all.

There’s loads of ways. Just remove 8 inside ones to leave 8 rectangles, and remove one exterior one to stop the outside being a square.
Even simpler: you have five vertical rows – remove all matches in rows 2 and 4 and one match from row 3, thus leaving 6 equal rectangles and 1 larger one.
Next?
Well yes guys but which ones is the question.
You could just remove one, strike it and set fire to the others.
The Gordian solution can be applied to many problems.
